Four year old Taylor “Tater Tot” Pugh was kicked out of his kindergarten class for having long hair. Tater Tot wanted to grow his hair long in hopes of cutting it for charity, but the school has decided his long hair leaves him and/or others as children at risk.

A Texas couple owns a chicken that has laid an egg with a cross at the end. Is this God’s way of telling us Merry Christmas? We see in the news all the time how God is working, but this one looks very real to me. Read about it at:

While strategizing for this coming Black Friday, I found a good article chock full of great survival tips.
One of my favorite tips is to stay up all night drinking. If you’re like me, the night before Black Friday is filled with nervous anticipation and no sleep! I just have a big party. This year we’re doing Firefly Cocktails.
My second favorite tip:
“Stampede tip: If you find yourself in an unruly crowd, make your way to its edge, where the flow is lighter. Stand up straight with feet firmly positioned. Stay calm, and conserve oxygen and energy by not yelling or screaming…If you see someone down, help them up. Or block other people from walking over them.” (page 2)
If you have any additional tips, please share them here. Let’s all be ready for Black Friday! And, remember. Drink responsibly! Also, remember to spend all your money. Your country is depending on you!!!
While working on a short story today, I realized my characters’ names did not match their personalities. When I first started the story, they seemed right. For my protagonist I chose a strong sounding name. After the story was written, it seemed like a frumpy name for her. Also it was three syllables. Then I noticed the antagonist also had a three syllable name! He is a mean, mean man but his name was nice and rather soothing.
I got desperate enough to go to one of the name generator websites. That didn’t work! At least it didn’t for me. Finally, in a fit of agony, I started screaming at my characters, “WHAT DO YOU CALL YOURSELF!” At this point I felt a little, well…mad. I gave up and went shopping. At Wal-mart. Of course, I received no inspiration.
After returning home, I made myself sit down and really think. I hope now my character names fit.
Oh wow am I relieved. Obviously doing his job to protect and serve, police Sgt. Robert Bettencourt said that it is not against the law to send meep in an e-mail. Click the link to see the full story:

Thanks for clarifying our constitutional rights, Sgt Bettencourt!
It seems that the good people of Durango, Colorado, perhaps after hearing about sad little chickens in cages (see previous post), have passed an ordinance that will allow its citizens to keep chickens in their backyards. Check out the link below that includes a video clip of a rather large chicken who interrupted the city council meeting as they discussed the ordinance. Said one council member: “I want to know who that clucker was.”
